Terms and Conditions

By sending or bringing your laptop or desktop to IT LINKS Australia to be repaired, serviced or purchasing equipment from IT LINKS AUSTRALIA , you (the Client) agree to the following conditions:

No Return or Refund during COVID-19

Due to high demand of certain products during COVID-19, we will not be accepting returns or give refunds for Monitors, Cables, Webcams, Keyboard, Mouse, and Docking Stations. In case an item is deemed to be faulty, it will be replaced under warranty. No refunds will be issued on the basis of change of mind.

 Authorization

The client authorizes IT Links to conduct an evaluation of the machine sent to determine the nature of the damage and provide an estimate of repair cost and timing. The evaluation is free unless the fault is rectified during evaluation/testing and no work beyond this evaluation will be charged without explicit client approval.

Data Backup

It is Clients responsibility to back up your data on your pc, mac, tablet devices and servers before we perform any type of service on them. This includes all hard drives, SSD drives and any memory or flash cards, etc serviced as a part of a computer system or individually. The service can be performed remotely, by bringing the device in or by calling a tech to your home/business place. We are not liable for any data loss regardless of how caused. We treat all data the same and do not distinguish between files, documents, programs, etc. in our data manipulation or workshop processes.

 DATA LOSS

During the repair process your hard drive will be tested for surface integrity and speed and in this event that it needs replacing you may not have the opportunity to access your data once the repair is complete. You acknowledge this. Also be aware that surface testing a failing hard drive can cause it to totally fail due to its intense usage. You agree that we cannot be held responsible for this if it occurs.

Its the clients responsibility to perform necessary measures to secure their devices. We will not be held responsible in case of a security breach causing data loss or data encryption, regardless of how it was caused.

In wake of recent major ransomware attacks, WannaCry and Petya, we recommend that everyone should have proper backups and security measures in place to tackle with such situation if that may occur. Keep your Windows operating system and other programs up to date, as well as off site backups for business clients. We don’t take any responsibility for your data loss or loss of business/work caused by such an attack.

Full Fault Description

Our engineers request that a full fault description be provided to assist in the diagnosis and the repair of your computer. Failure to communicate all issues or to adequately convey the how, where and when of errors is not likely to result in all faults been attended to. If you remove your hard drive prior to our repair we cannot test it in your Windows environment and therefore cannot guarantee this aspect of any job.

Complete Access to the Machine

All BIOS and Windows passwords should be removed before booking in your laptop. In cases where ITLINKS receives units with passwords, they will be cleared if possible, or we will call or SMS you to obtain them but this will delay the repair of the unit.

What you should bring with you to ITLINKS:
  • Include accessories ONLY if it would help the technician determine the issue with your unit. This could include PCMCIA cards, 3G Internet dongle, DVD drives, AC adapters, additional third-party RAM, cables, etc. If you are getting a DC Jack repaired you MUST include the AC adapter.
  • Always include the battery and AC adapter with your unit. Do not strip parts from your computer prior to booking in or bringing to us for testing and repair.
  • Please do NOT include DVD movies, Software CDs, Music CDs, port replicators, mini docks, external monitors, product manuals, etc.

Part and Components

IT LINKS will use new, reconditioned or used parts as necessary to affect your repair. New parts come with a 12 Months warranty limited to that part and reconditioned and used parts also come with a 30 day warranty. As we cover all brands the provision of parts is a very complex matter and we seek your understanding in this matter.

Courier Policy

ITLINKS use a variety of transportation methods depending on your location, urgency, size of package, etc. We will advise you of the best shipping method available in our experience.

Payment

Custom Built PCs and Back order items require a min of 75% deposit at the time of your order and the remaining will be charged when you the item is collected or before it is shipped to the client. After the order is placed, a cancellation fee of 15% of the invoice amount will be retained to return the item to the distributer and pay the restock fee to the distributor.

Payment must be made in full before your item is returned to you. Insurance reports are payable in advance. The person who commissions the insurance report is the person liable for the pre-payment of the report fee. We will not give you credit or invoice jobs for later payment unless prior arrangements have been made.

Removal of Goods (in case of non-payment)

Any hardware released or installed at your premises will remain a property of IT LINKS AUSTRALIA until a full payment is made against the invoice issued. If the payment is not paid in full by the due date, you(the Client) agrees to the removal of equipment by IT LINKS AUSTRALIA without any prior notice. The equipment will be resold to cover the costs and any personal data will be deleted without any notice to the Client. If the Client doesn’t make any effort to clear the invoice, IT LINKS AUSTRALIA will take further legal action against the Business or Individual.

Work Not Done

If we omit to do a task you asked us to complete for whatever reason, the subsequent attendance to that task is not free. It is not a warranty matter as we normally only bill for what we do, not what we were asked to do.

Warranty

All new items sold at IT Links come with a 12 Months manufacturer unless mentioned otherwise. Used and refurbished items have a 30 Days warranty on them. We don’t offer refunds for any New or Used PC purchased past the period of 30 Days. Incase of New PC or PC parts a restocking Fee of 25% will be charged. If the item is opened/used before return might not be possible and will be determined by the staff.

Extended warranty is available on some items from the Manufacturer and can be purchased from ITLinks.

IT Links provide warranty for all work done by us. Any claim for faulty workmanship shall be limited solely to the rectification at no charge of the faulty work, no claim for loss consequential or otherwise being admissible. We may choose to give you an advance replacement of the parts or you may have to wait for the manufacturer to replace the returned part. Re-infestation of viruses is not normally a warranty matter. Certain know faults of a design nature will not be covered by this warranty policy more than once, i.e. we will only replace a part under warranty once.

Returns & Refunds

We accept returns against products purchased from us and found to be faulty.

If you have a minor problem with a product, we can give you a free repair instead of a replacement or refund. When you have a major problem with a product, we can offer you a replacement or refund.

If you purchased a new product from us, the refund or replacement can take between 7-28 Days depending on the manufacturers return policy.

If you purchased a refurbished or used product, we can offer a replacement or refund against any faults during 30 days of purchase. The return and refund is subject to the item being returned in the same condition as purchased. Any sign of damage to the product will void any returns of the product. The damage is not limited to physical, liquid or electrical. Incase cockroaches are found inside a computer or component purchased from us, the warranty is deemed to be voided. Cockroaches can ruin the computers by damaging the internal electrical components and causing short circuits.

We are not liable for any loss of time and work due to the return or the replacement of the product.

When you return items from a group of items purchased, the remaining amount spent will no longer be eligible for any discount you may have received. If you purchased bundle products and received a discount, return of one of those products will void the over all discount.

Incase of change of mind, we will charge a restock fee of 25% of the items price. The item must be returned within 5 days of purchase. If the item is not returned with original packing and all the accessories, we might decline a return for such item.

Liability for Loss or Damage

IT Links will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment, its accessories, software or data howsoever caused. You agree that incidental marking, scratches, etc. could result from disassembly of your equipment. Where your laptop is designed by the manufacturer to be not disassembled, such as screens on Ultrabook, you acknowledge and accept that some damage may occur during dismantling and repair. You accept this. Also you accept that ITLINKS is limited in liability to the replacement of a lost or damaged item only; no claim for loss of data, profits, time etc. will be entertained.

Confidentiality and Privacy

We recommend the removal of any confidential information from your computer prior to repair. If this is not possible please be aware that we will not disclose to anyone your private information or your client details. You give your consent to us bringing you marketing emails from time to time as long as we do not pass your email address to others. Refer to our Privacy Policy on the footer tab of our website.

Illegal Acts

We will not pirate software for you, we will not misrepresent insurance reports or do any other illegal act. As refusal may offend, please don’t ask. For us to load Microsoft products onto your computer you must provide your product key / genuine disk(s) / proof of ownership.

Operating System Support

We only support Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 & Windows 10. Partitions with Linux or Unix are not supported and will be ignored.

Prompt Collection and Payment for Completed Repairs

You agree to promptly collect and pay for your repairs or service fees. You further agree to pay a “storage fee” of $1 per day per laptop/desktop for laptops/desktops that remain uncollected 30 days after we notify you that the goods are ready for collection. Please note that uncollected goods will be disposed of pursuant of The Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1967 which covers inspection, custody, storage, repair and other treatment of goods. Under this Act, uncollected goods may be sold six months after the date on which they were ready for collection to recoup the unpaid charges, storage fees, and costs of disposal.

Testimonials

You agree to allow ITLINKS to use any testimonial you provide in any one medium in any other. For example if you post a testimonial on our website we may well transfer it to our Facebook page or vice versa.

You acknowledge that you have read and agree to our terms and conditions by virtue of booking in a job or shopping with IT LINKS.

Changes To This Agreement

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions by posting the updated terms on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.
